Dear colleagues and readers,

You have online here on your screen the second issue of the electronic Bulgarian Journal of American and Transatlantic Studies. Thanks to the interest of all of you and especially - to the valuable contributions of some of you, the second issue is now here for the critical scrutiny of your eyes and minds.

Being once again the result of the concerted efforts of its team of dedicated US Studies scholars from the University of Sofia, Fulbright alumni and members of the Fulbright Commission in Bulgaria as well as of many other friends and colleagues working on both sides of the Atlantic this second issue explores further the academic Transatlantic track and makes some fresh and valuable revelations following it. In this respect we are happy to acknowledge once again that our project was made possible through the decisive support of the U.S. Embassy in Sofia and its Cultural Affairs section for which we are deeply thankful.

The feedback from the launch of our first issue had been quite encouraging - many of you send us emails of appreciation, congratulations and what is most important - suggestions about our next issues and proposals for furture articles. Especially important for us were the comments of our university colleagues and students, who started using the journal and the teaching resources at iys website in their regular work. We are grateful for all your comments and are waiting your future ideas and - even more - your criticism on what is missing or not substantiated on our pages.

We all know that we live in an imperfect world. For a new journal like ours that statement is even more relevant. Humbly waiting for your comments, ideas and critique, we sincere hope that everyone of you will find her/his piece of interest and academic challenge on the next pages of our second issue.

Thus our "cake" has been served - please enjoy it!
