Dr. Nadia Boyadjieva

Associate Professor of International Law and International Relations, Faculty of Law, Plovdiv University

Dr. Nadia Boyadjieva obtained an M.A. in history from the Faculty of History, Sofia University and an M.A. in Law from the New Bulgarian University. She completed her Ph.D. in history at the same university in 1999 with a dissertation on "The U.S. Policy towards the Conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1989-1995)" (published in 2000).

Since 2008 she has held the post of Associate Professor of International Law and International Relations in the Faculty of Law, Plovdiv University (Assistant Professor, 2000-2008).

She was an Open Society Archive Fellow (Budapest, Hungary), a NATO EAPC Fellow , a Free University of Berlin Fellow (the JFK Institute, Berlin, Germany), a  Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitaian law  fellow (Lund, Sweden) and a Senior Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Cold War Studies Center (Harvard University, USA).

Dr Boyadjieva is the author of a monographic book on the History of International Relations (17th-20th century), and has published a number of articles on international relations, European diplomacy in the Cold War years, on legal and international aspects of EU enlargement and on other topics. She has participated in various international (EU) projects including educational institutions and NGOs.

She is a founding BASA member (2002) and a member of the Cold War Study Group - Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Military History Association and the International Law Association (Bulgaria).
